Daniya is a Special Girl

Daniya* prefers to keep to herself, she is a member of Mukti’s Special Needs community. Life is not easy for those with special needs. Mukti has provided these precious children with specialized care for many decades. The supervisors and teachers have worked tirelessly to bring hope and build up self-worth.

Daniya is typical of many of the girls in the Special Needs section. She refuses to enter the door of the special school although she likes attention given to her elsewhere. Sometimes, she’ll grab her teacher’s hand and walk to the door of the school. But then she refuses to take another step. Daniya is quite passive and is fearful another student may push her around.

Pray for Daniya that she will choose to take a ‘risk’ and enter the school for a couple of minutes perhaps during morning songs.  A few steps taken at a time would likely see her making needed progress socially.
