Thank You!

Thank You!

Each spring, students at Mukti schools take government-mandated exams to qualify for further education. Without admission to higher education, futures can seem bleak. The English Medium School has graduated EVERY 10th grader for the past ten years with passing grades in the government testing. Doors are opening. Life is being renewed. This is a “thank you” from a 10th-grade student to Mukti Mission.

My name is Madhur* and I am 15 years old. I was born and brought up in a family that follows another faith. My father is the head worshipper of our village temple, and used to offer sacrifices of goats and hens to please the gods and goddesses. However, we never felt that they were living gods, and instead began to doubt their existence. Our lives were filled with suspense.

My father was very worried for me because there were no good educational opportunities or communication resources in our village. I also worried about what my future would hold. 10th grade was a big milestone, and I had no prospects. One day, a spiritual friend came to my home and told us about a place running in our village. It was a project where I could get an education. The project was run by Mukti Mission. The friend requested my father to send me there, explaining that there were three graduate teachers who could provide me with a good education. The very next day, I went to the project, and the teachers there spoke to me lovingly and encouraged me to attend daily.

At the project, I received a good education and even learned how to pray. I never thought I would pass the 10th grade, but through the labor of the teachers and the grace of God, I did. Above all, I am deeply grateful to Mukti Mission for giving me the privilege to learn so much. I request that you pray for me so that I can continue to study well, and God’s name will be glorified.
