A Fun-filled Day

A Fun-filled Day

The excitement was palpable in the air. The girls were about to go on the much-awaited trip. During the summer holidays, many of the resident girls return to their families. However, for some girls, Mukti is their only home. It was decided to take these girls on a one-day picnic to a nearby place. There were about sixty-one girls and ladies setting out for an adventure on this special day.

It was a beautiful sunny day. Leaving early in the morning they enjoyed breakfast at the park. After breakfast, they climbed a viewing tower to see the expanse of the area and all the beautiful trees. As they walked around after descending the tower, they saw colorful fish, ducks, and other animals. Great fun was enjoyed as they were taken on a tractor ride which was quite noisy with the excited chatter of the girls. It was refreshing to see how happy this made the girls. Some girls went for a bullock cart ride and later some went paddle boating in the stream. The boats were perfect as they could fit about eight people, two people peddled to move it and someone else steered.

Next, the group gravitated to an area with trees surrounding and pipes high up that sprayed water down. They called this the rain dance as they played upbeat music and everyone went into the area and had fun dancing and getting wet. After that, the pool beckoned for all to swim. It was so much fun for everyone that the girls didn’t want to get out and have lunch. So, lunch was delayed because of this but it was fine because it was a wonderful time.

Lunch was a sumptuous spread with many options to choose from. After the delicious lunch, there was a magic show to watch. Some of the ladies were getting a little tired from all the activity so it was nice for them to sit inside the building and relax for a while. The girls enjoyed watching the performance especially as the magician picked people from the crowd to participate. To end the fabulous day the group had a snack, did a headcount to ensure everyone was there, and headed back to Mukti.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the outing. There was a lot of laughter and new experiences together.
